Installation
- How many clip-ins should I get? For the Curly, Coily, Kinky and Afro Tress textures, we recommend one bundle for a full head. For BlowTress, and Perm Tress, we recommend two bundles for a full head.
- What products can I use with this hair? We recommend that you use the same products free of silicones and parabens. Generally products you would use for your natural hair . Please refer to Maintenance Guide for more information (Maintenance Guide)
- How do I install this hair? Installation depends on your purchase. Our Clip-ins comes with meta clips to ensure a secure placement. While our ponytails come with combs and a drawstring to ensure that the unit is secure.
- Can I dye this hair? Yes you can. Our hair is 100% human hair. We recommend doing a strand test and dyeing prior to installation. Like your natural hair, bleaching or colouring with chemicals weakens and eventually damages the hair and potentially alters the pattern so it is advised to do this infrequently. In the event that you dye/bleach your hair, please be sure to deep condition accordingly and give the hair adequate TLC. If possible let a professional colour your extension. Using high volume bleach can possibly alter the curl pattern. Please note that we are not responsible for any damages or altered texture as a result of bleaching/dyeing or over processing.
- Can I straighten this hair? Yes you can but please not that like your natural hair, this hair is susceptible to heat damage and loss of curl pattern so we recommend the use of minimal heat. If the use of heat is needed, be sure to use a heat protecting spray before straightening.
- Can I order a sample? Yes you can. If you don't want to commit to buying full bundles, you can order sample products for at a lower price alternatively, we are more than happy to help you in making the best selection for your hair texture by simply sending an email to support@texturedtresses.co
Maintenance
- How often can I use this hair? You can you your hair as often as you want as long as it is cared for properly after every use. Please see the Maintenance Guide for more details.
- How do I care for my extensions? Our recommendation is to care for your Textured Tresses hair like you will care for your natural hair as our hair mimics your natural hair.
- Co-wash - always wash with a clarifying conditioner instead of a shampoo. Shampoo stripes moisture from the hair.
- Deep condition - this is recommended after every long-term use and when your hair has been dyed or bleached.
- Detangling - you can use the following tools to detangle your hair: a wide tooth comb, denman brush, a detangling brush and your fingers. Try wetting your hair thoroughly then applying a generous amount of conditioner or a detangling conditioner, this makes the process easier. De-tangle from the bottom of your hair and work your way up. That way, when you get to the root of your hair you will have a smooth foundation to glide down.
- Moisturise - Always keep your hair extension moisturised when installed. We recommend having a spray bottle with a mixture of water and your favourite leave-in conditioner. Spray your hair every morning with this solution and your hair will remain moisturised and shiny.
- Heat - We always recommend you use less heat with your hair and if you have to use heat, always make sure you use a heat protecting spray to avoid heat damage.
Additional notes: Always allow your hair to air dry, only use water based products, avoid using oil based products. Avoid using too much oil and or grease. After co-washing and detangling, apply some leave-in conditioner and seal moisture with natural oils like jojoba oil or any oil of your choosing.
If you have a clip in, we recommend braiding or single plaiting your hair and ensure you cover your hair with a satin bonnet or silk scarf. This will prevent or minimise frizz.
- What texture should I get?If unsure of what texture to purchase, don’t worry we are happy to help you through the process! Please send a picture of your hair texture to our email support@texturedtresses.co and we will be able to help you pick a perfect blend for your hair.
- Can I wear my hair to swim? Yes you can. We recommend that you wear a swim cap to protect your hair due to the chlorine content in the swimming pool water as chlorine sucks the natural oil from your hair leaving it dry, rough and damaged.
- What happens if I purchase the wrong texture or product? If unsure of what texture to purchase, we strongly recommend that you contact our support team for advice as we do not accept returns. We only accept exchanges if the product is returned within 7 days and is in it’s original packaging.
- How long does the hair last? The life expectancy of your hair depends solely on how you care for the hair.
Shipping, Exchange & Returns
- Where is my tracking number? You will receive a tracking number once your order has been shipped. After your order has been completed, the arrival time depends on your location.
- How long does order shipping take? Order processing takes within 3-5 working If you need
- Do you ship worldwide? Yes we do. Worldwide shipping takes between 3- 7 working days. We endeavor to use the fastest shipping method possible.
- Do I have to pay custom charges? Orders shipped outside the United Kingdom and may be liable to custom charges depending on your location. Please note that we are unable to cover these fees as they are not included in the total price of product. It is the sole responsibility of the customer to deal with custom charges. Should you fail to make this payment, your package will be returned back to us. A refund will be awarded subject to an admin restocking fee
- I have changed my mind, can I return? For guidance before placing your order, please send an email to support@texturedtresses.co and we will be able to give you further details and help you choose the best texture for you and also answer any questions you may have before placing an order.
Upon receipt, should you be unhappy with your purchase we are happy to exchange your order as long as the hair is in its original condition (i.e package seal not broken, bundle seal still intact) if bundles have been washed or brushed/combed out or altered in any way this will not be accepted.
While we can assist in shipping your product back to you, but you will be liable for shipping cost.
